Credit cars and websites

It seems when buying stuff from web sites there are two ways of paying:
1. Credit card
2. Post a cheque (which is the safest way, but more time consuming).
If option 2 is used, then from a company point of view a PO Box address is required along with company bank account.
If option 1 is used then a web site that can handle credit card data is required, and the bank still needs to get involved.
Has anyone on this forum had experience of setting up a web site with credit card facilities? Is it simply a case of speaking to someone at your local bank? Do they offer help with the web page data (supplying html etc).

Depends if you are selling memberships or products - the advice will be very different depending on which market you are planning to go into

No membership stuff, just products.
I have just been looking at the html of a site that sells music and their form looks quite straight forward, name, address, credit card details etc. The same html could probably be used with a few tweaks, although looking closer, the all important section appears to contain an address to where the information is sent (i guess this is where paycom.com come in).

Nobody is going to give you credit card details or any other details on a non-encrypted page, it has to be secure and set up through SSL (Secure Socket Layer).

Corona.. For products there is Clear Card if they accept you -
www.clearcard.com and CCBill are one of the oldest and most respected cc processors in the business. I've been with them for 6 years and seen many others come and go.. A few costing me money unfortunately.
Samsung... Are you sure Paycom are opening an EU division ? I've been in touch with them about this for a while, and it was still in the pipeline up to a month ago.. I've been talking to Isabel Robles
