Re: Does UK porn sell well in the UK?

That's funny, no one even answered the question. I've got a gag order on me for being too helpful but I'll try to be helpful without being too cryptic and giving too much away:
As a collective: Yes, UK porn is doing well considering the restrictions placed on it but the key is to get yourself established. Not an easy one that since everyone is shooting the same girls with the same boys, doing the variatations on the same theme if you like.
Next to establish yourself, you're going to need volume content of material by budgeting for 5 scenes. So you'll need 25 scenes so that you can get a conveyor belt set up in sales so that you make enough money to go onto Volume 6 by making money off number 1 etc.
DVD is still a very popular format for those who want to physically own something.
Having said all that, its frickin' worse in the States. I heard from a reliable source, a certain company (a known reputable name) are selling their dvds at a unit cost of $4 (That's about 2 quid!). Sounds like business is fucked there also, even if they are selling higher volume.
My advice is, if you are starting out and have nothing interesting other than whats available to bring to the table, don't bother. It's just going to be a lot of fun losing a lot of money and that's if you are getting a shag out of it. Otherwise, welcome to the porn industry. Your host this evening to fleece you of your money is...Watch out for the big bad shark behind door number 3...Just like any other business really
