I have just had a security company on the phone attempting to persuade me to hire their services as chaperones to my models.

His sales patter was that things happen at photo shoots

My reply was that he has obviously never been at a professional photo shoot and that I have never had an incident in my 4 years of business.

His reply was well when that dangerous incident happens tomorrow you wish that we had been there

I replied that models were more at risk in their own homes than they are at photo shoots and they dont have bodyguards there

He then asked what we do re crowd control outside the studio

Fear sells these days, but obviously this guy knows nothing about the work you do or the environment where you work. A few remarks about risk is usually enough for people to capitulate.

You should have reversed the situation and tried to sell him something !!

Can I have the number of this company please as it is getting increasingly difficult to get to my frontdoor to do a shoot for the amount of marauding fans clawing at me...and thats just the parents and boyfriends! The fans wanting autographs are a lot more pleasant though, but I agree, sod security for the girls, us producers need protection.

Yes I have the same problem with fans, in Spain recently I was mobbed by 1 woman wanting my autograph, groping, clawing, prodding, grasping...............and that was me!!
