I've grown to really enjoy the work and meeting so many interesting people - but having a full time jobs means I don't get to do the shoots I want to in the wekk.

I'd also use my extra time to study html/php more thoroughly so I have something to fall back on in a few years and have a few other ideas uo my sleeve!!

I'd love to hear your thoughts/opinions/suggestions/constructive criticism.

a lot depends on what you want to happen.

Lots of models go into it for some fun and some money and when the work dries up they go on to something else.

Others want to make a career and if they are a bit astute they soon realise that they need to make plans early on - both for what they want to do after the modelling dries up and how they are going to make sure it happens.

If you are in the second category you want to talk to lots of people and get advice. If you are in the first category then go for it and enjoy yourself.

Where is there to go after porn though? I have my own business ideas about planning for the future but in terms of employment - and being realistic - are you unemployable in many fields?

A rare chance to make money doing something you enjoy so you can put it into something that's yours - rather than existing day to day in an unfilling job.

I am 95% certain I want to this but need to make sure I have thoroughly prepared my self - what are your thoughts?

I think it's same as any business, make as much money as you can as quickly as you can then decide where to go from there.

Respect your limits and do what you think is best.

There would be some areas where the job would count against youcertainly, anything to do with children (totally due to the bad publicity aspect) Also, some things like advertising etc

I cant see an office type job being an issue, after all it would be for many girls who worked part time if that was the case

The other thing is to consider your limits and what you don't want to do

For example explicit g/g or even b/g would offer more income oportunities and Lots of girls now also combine modeling with stripping TV chat line work etc, can you see yourself doing that LOL?

BUT, always have plans for when the work starts to dry up

Martin - well the plan would be to develop my skills so I can work freelance and then start up my own company as soon as I have the money.

If the company didn't work out I could then fall back on the freelance work again.


Ecucamman - how long is it before the work starts to dry up?

Would I potentially have a couple of years or could it be less? (for the solo/GG market)

As for the tv chatlines - I have done xxx before and would definitely be keen to try some of the other stations as well.

I'm not much of a dancer, but I can write. I'd happily fill the time in with promotional work, events, and other bits and pieces.

I have also seen a lot of clubs pay good money for hostesses - but I'm aware some of those include escorting - is this pretty standard or is some of it genuinely hostessing?

Iv been full time in the sex industry since i started 2 years ago. Sometimes just modelling, sometimes porn, somtimes tv presenting, sometimes dancing, sometimes webcam, sometimes phone chat lines and a mixture of them all together at the same time.

I came into the industry with my eyes very much closed. I never had any ambition to be a porn actress, its just the way its turned out...But now im here iv realised this is my vocation, this is what i want to do more than anything and i want to be the best i can be.

Iv very much got the attitude of "something will come along" Not a very responsible attitude to have, i know. I have a few ideas of ways i would like to go with my career, things i would like to do afterwards and iv always felt that, when i come to the crossroads, ill know which way i want to go.

Opportunites for different things always seem to pop up for me so i dont like to set my career path out in stone...Different things will come up for me to decide whether id like to do and each one will give me a different experience and could open up different doors for different types of careers in the sex industry as a whole. Im a risk taker, and so far it seems to have paid off for me.

Either way, i know ill ALWAYS be working in the sex industry one way or another because i love it so much...Doing what, only time will tell.

Anyway, moral of the story is....If you do go full time, it will be a risk, as is everything else in this life. Its hard work....The bills arent going to pay themselves....I know most models have their busy times and quiet times so you do have to be careful with your money and put a bit away for a rainy day (i.e if you dont have any decent paying bookings for 2 weeks)

But it can be done.

Career length depends on a few factors, some outside your control, those in it are what work you accept/reject how hard you advertise yourself, things I know your aware of. But certainly a couple of years can be done

I suspect most club hostessing requires more, but Im far from knowledgable on this

Would I consider those?

I have worked on Live xxx so could always do something similar again - but again it all has a shelf life.

Tequila thanks for giving me some real insight into things - I have sent you an e-mail as well.

I think a happy compromise for me would be to take on a part time 'normal' job whilst I test the waters and see how things go. If it didn't go to plan I'd still have that to survive on and would also be my link back into the 'real world' so I'm not caught in a limbo between the two.

And if it does all take off then it's a bonus!
