A question about Erotica and photography....

How exactly does Erotica enforce the no pix without a Media pass rule? Do they search everyone on the way in and confiscate cameras?? Surely there will be plenty of fans coming to meet the girls and taking pix with their camera phones?

Security are always on the look out for phone cams being used, and people have been thrown out in past years for using them when models and others complained.
No Press Pass and you aren't really allowed to take pics unless the models etc. agree. Unfortunately there aren't enough security around to watch everyone, so it goes on all the time.

Thats crazy! That settles it I won't be going. I am not paying to go somewhere and then have them tell me I can't take my camera. Its obvious why and it stinks, basically they will charge a tenner for one polaroid with your fave model. Not acceptable as far as i am concerned, people should be allowed to take photos when they are being charged entry
My rant over

I thought it was very relaxed re cameras last year.
Had no problem getting a couple of pictures done with Faye
- if anyone had complained about it she would have surely punched them on the nose!!

I think you should be allowed to take photos providing the model or whoever it may be gives their permission, but you get this at a lot of large organised events and where photography is allowed if you read in the small print you will often find that the organisers retain all rights to any photos/film that are taken at the event, in other words if you profit from it they want the money.

I'm told by one of the orgz that this year will be different with regards camera's.
Last year they turned a squinted eye to the camera's but had complaints later from the stall holders about images of their products being used in all manor of places. It's big bucks to get a stall there and they claim that paying big bucks should keep their work exclusive!
So this year will be different and the big cheese is instructing security to throw out anyone with a camera, trade or otherwise.
Mind you some of the size 18 pole dancing swingers that now flock to the show are best left UN-PHOTOGRAPHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think people forget what the real purpose of photos are. Now I know most people here make a living from them and I understand that. To the vast majority of the public photographs are just memories. Not to be made money of but just to remember a great time. If I went to a show like Erotica it would no doubt be a one off, I would want memories of it.

I was once told that Erotica's no photograph policy was to keep the innocent, innocent and their identies secret.
So the next time I'm at the motor/boat show I'm gonna throw a wobble at the orgz about all the photographs being taken exposing my innocent identy!
Perhaps Erotica should be renamed PARANOTICA and run by M15?

So when you are at the show this year and you see the size 18 swinging pole dancers wearing flesh tight lycra, stop for a moment and wonder who the fuck they are.....Shhhhhhhhhhh its a secret!

Yeah , maybe the location should be kept secret, if no one gets in their identities can be even safer.
I think its to do with the money they can all make by charging fans ?10 for each polaroid taken. Gone are the days when you could write to Page 3 Girls c/o The Sun and get signed photos like I did in my youth. Signed photos are now sold in online shops. I don't agree with it but it wont change I'm sure.
I don't suppose its a big deal really as I am sure the show will still be good but its a shame.

99.999% of the models are happy to pose for anyone with a camera so long as there's no one behind them who shouldn't be when the pics taken

Also not all stall holders allow pics to be taken on their stands.l There are plenty of plain backgrounds that can be used
Terry Stephens and I had great fun talent spotting last year, as I've had a press pass since I stated going to the show in 2001, so I took legal pics galore
