Heads Up : Warning

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, or even if the rules allow. However, I feel that the visitors here may find my bad experience a useful reminder not to get sucked in and burnt. I will keep the more specific details out of it ie the very personal side like the model's name, phone number and address but if anyone wishes to contact me privately I have all the evidence in the form of emails, sms messages and instant messaging chat plus links to web pages.

Ok, now down to it, I contacted a so called up n coming amateur model calling herself Charlie with a view to a shoot, she told me she was extremely keen to get on, and at her suggestion we chatted a lot over instant messaging over the course of a week prior to our agreed shoot date in Bristol on Wednesday afternoon ( 24th May ) at her " apartment "

I kept her updated by email ( she uses hotmail with hotbabe as part of the address ) and then I sent her a few sms messages and phoned her on shoot day as agreed. In addition, as promised I duly rang to tell her I was setting off and rang several more times to keep her fully updated. I had previously asked her to ensure her phone was on that afternoon but each time I called it was on ansaphone mode. Of course I left messages and at no time did I hear back from her to the contrary that the shoot was off or that anything was wrong whatsoever. As we had built up quite a rapport and had re-confirmed so to speak the night before via instant messaging I was only a tad dubious but kept to my word and made my way to the address I was given.

Upon arrival at the address, I was initially not too impressed with the area to be quite frank but decided to dismiss this from my mind. That was definetly bad judgement on my part as now it was clear things were all wrong. I rang the model to say I had arrived and was parked up outside where she gave as her home address but again no answer. At this juncture I should have driven back home straight away, but being the trusting and reliable sort I thought oh well maybe there are mitigating circumstances, I'm here anyway so I'll wait. Wait I did, for about 2 hours and made calls every 30 to 40 mins and of course I rang the bell ( the only bell I saw ) I thought was to her upstairs flat but no answer; I also knocked the door.

I am still waiting for a reply to my numerous communications, and will be pleasantly surprised if I get one by way of explanation or apology. Incidentally, this waste of time and petrol made me go back and look closer at the pictures the model in question sent to me, and that appear on her profile page. I recognise the background in a couple of them in so much that I have seen a very similar looking background in another models pics who also happens to reside in the Bristol area. I have a hunch somebody here must know the " studio " ? I am assuming that the " OTHER " model is LEGITIMATE.

Sadly it seems that the individual using the name Charlie and claiming
to be a 23 year old blonde model from Bristol makes a regular habit of
this. I have received a number of private messages about "hot babe" and
nobody seems to have had a real time conversation with this person over
a telephone, everything has been electronic and typed. I would hate for
any photographer to have their time and petrol money wasted like I did.
BE WARNED !

I'd rather not risk getting into trouble here by posting specific personal details like the phone number or address I was given but this is no ordinary ( !?! ) timewaster and to try to protect any photographers from any possible future problems I have reported Charlie Hot Babe to the webmaster of the site where we first touched base. There is most definetly more to this model ( ? ) than meets the eye :-(
