Webcam on my site????

Hi Guys n' Girls,

I run my own site and I want to put a live webcam on my site for my members area.

I have downloaded webcam1-2-3 which works, but I cannot integrate it on a webpage, and it is very slow (hosted from my PC, but msn messenger is faster). I don't have a huge amount of bandwidth on my site so want to keep it on my computer.

Can anyone help??? I know most people have Cams on their sites but I am struggling.

Thanks Jess,

Download Windows Media Encoder from

When the Windows Media Encoder first starts, the configuration wizard asks you for the port number to broadcast on (which you must reference in your web pages) The default port number provided is 8080, but change this to 1121 because some ISP's have issues with port 8080. Select an output that is suitable for Internet broadcast.

Place this code in your web page where you want the webcam output to appear. This will embed WMP into your webpage.

Change the width and height of the output to match output dimensions of your Windows Media Encoder session. Set the domain name and port number (the domain name must be what you registered and the port number must match what you set in Windows Media Encoder). You can also change the parameters for shoeing controls, fairly obvious what they are.

Bandwith wise, you will probably want plenty.

Or to save bandwith... who a lot of the UK girls use :)

Jaques.. I might try that myself.. Thanks.. LOL. One thing I noticed is that uses activex which a lot of surfers disable due to virus

Yeah - not the best way, you could use Java as well but not everybody has that enabled either...lol!!

No problem - see my other post for another solution using Windows Media Encoder if you don't like this one.

Ok, I am gonna be a pain now, sorry.
I have edited the script to look like this, but not sure that I have put the URLs in correctly. the ones below are the link (in effect) to the page that I created for the webcam, is that right??? Also the port thingy confuses me ( Iam blonde "cliche but..")

WME asks for server name, publishing point and copy settings from. To be honest I am typing random blurb in to these fields, could you guide me??

Further problem, I am behind a router and Mcaffe antivirus.
I know I am asking alot but any help would really be appreciated. Thanks so much for your time this far.

Jess
