I have now got this software on my laptop and have some movie files in .MOD format saved in a folder on my desktop and am struggling to get the software to pick them up. read the instructions and it tells you how to pick up the files direct from the camera but not if they are already on your pc?? Does anyone know how?

I use CyberLink PowerDirector Express to get the .MOD files and then render them in avi format to use with other software

It seems pinnacle does not recognize .MOD files which my JVC camera creates. Does anyone know of any software that will convert .MOD to a useable format for Pinnacle?

Have you looked at www.winavi.com as that converts most types of vid format to most others

Another idea is to do a search on Google etc. for help on converting them

I dont suppose you have one of the Everio series? I have a JVC-MC500 that creates .MOV

The software that came with it and converts my .MOV to Mpeg2 and possibly other formats (lol I dunno?) is Cyberlinks' Power Director Express.

I aint no wizard but I am sure that someone here might be able to tell you where you can download it free?
