Can anyone advise where I can get same day results? Online so far I have found the harley which does same day HIV but if anyone could advise of a medicentre or similar service that will do the lot the same day I'd really appreciate your help!

Hi Kaz

I went to Indigo at the Charing Cross Hospital (Hammersmith) recently and they can do HIV on the same day if you get there by a certain time, and I think the other main ones too (where they use swabs) but not syphalis though. Hope this is of some help.

Swabs (Chlamydia and Goneraghhh) - these need to be cultured. The visual inspection of the slide will only pick up a gross infection.

I am not medical, but thats my understanding.

All the above posters are correct Kaz you can only get sameday results for HIV test, but the private clinics can turn the other results around in 3-4 days where the Indigo at Charing Cross takes 7 days.

Who'd have thought these nasty little infections would have an education. Always thought that syphillis was the artistic disease that did for all those 19/20th century writers and composers and dictators.

Kaz, when Morgan had hers done at the Harley a bit back the turn-round was pdq, though not less than 2 days. Cost a bit as well. About 200 for the lot.

Do same day testing on Mondays and Thursdays.

Not all chlamydia and gonorrhoea testing has to be the 'culture method', though this is what most nhs clinics still use because it's cheaper.

Check out an old post on this subject here.

Back then the tests allowed you to get accurate results within 48 hours so maybe the technology has advanced to within 24 hours now, as medi-lab do it.
