Girls: Guardian want to write an article...

I know all "mainstream meeja" types get flamed to death at the mere suggestion of writing anything about the porn biz. I understand why that happens. But it's very boring so please leave this thread alone (he says hopefully). !happy!

I've been contacted by a Guardian journalist who writes a series of "day in the life" pieces about people in different trades. He wants to write an article about a porn actress.

I've talked to him already, explained that the industry is fucked off with hatchet jobs, and he assures me he wants to right a straightforward, non-judgemental piece - so IMHO it's an opportunity to present the industry in a good light, by showing that most girls enjoy what they do, and do this as a matter of free choice.

If you're up for it, drop me an email and I'll send you his contact details.

We've found a victim, so thanks to those who replied.

I'd also like to congratulate everyone on their self-restraint for not turning this into another we hate the media thread. !wink!

It shouldn't be too much of a stretch for Guardian readers to appreciate that women enjoy sex and that that could be a driver for occupational choice. Also, if he used the term 'porn actress' it suggests that he's aware of the performative aspect of the job. This augurs well on two counts:

a) a more accurate account.

b) he should be less inclined to use the Guardian's expenses budget to try
to get into her pants.

I shoot porn and have read the Guardian for over 35 years. When it gets too censorious about it, I just turn the page.
