Deadbeat Timewaster

There is a photographer who I was scheduled to do a shoot with last Wednesday - Long story short, I drove for six hours and wasted forty quid in petrol for f*ck all, all he send me was a handful of crappy texts (all in adolescent txt spk) with some obvious lie about his gear being stolen. After subsequently contacting him he has flat-out refused to cover any of my costs. Other people have related similar stories about him to me.

I hear he's looking for girls to shoot gonzo and other adult material.

If you would like more details about this sadcase, contact me at emily_cartwright@fastmail.fm

Thanks,
Emily

There are many many well known producers, including some big ones, that do and have done gonzo styles. Ok some models feel uncomfortable with it, in which case they can simply avoid it. Anyway just a comment that its just a style of porn and should not really be used as a derogatory term.

I think you'll find Emily was referring to him as a sadcase for the way she was treated and not for the style of product he wanted to film lindsey.

I think you are always going to get people in the industry like this whoever they are: producers, photographers and models.

I wish people would be more honest! I drove at the weekend 250 miles to shoot two girls for a performer and only one turned up. If a person does not want to do a shoot then just say.

As a producer I?d prefer the model to say something like ?sorry going on the piss and can?t be bothered to get up for your shoot? . At least it?s honest! Seems the standard excuse going around at the moment period has started 2 weeks early (could be true, not saying it?s not) but I?ve heard it from different models just seems strange.

Emily, as for your situation any good producer confirms the shoots going ahead at least 24 hours before or in the morning of question.

Timewasters don't help anyone.

you cant pull the period trick anymore!!!! tell them to put a sponge in. I would not accept this as an excuse. I say this at time of booking now and most agents do too.

Timewaster are unfortunately part of life! i've only ever cancelled 2 shoots in the time i've been modeling, the first my mum had to go in hospital with pneumonia, and the guy i was booked to work for was very understanding, the second was when my gran went into hospital! and the guy understood that!

I've never made things up to cancel, or ever done a no show!

People will pull out, cancel, postpone for whatever reasons, and i'm finding that being honest will actually get you further than telling porkies!

Emily, i feel for you losing money like that, it does and will happen, that's this industry! least the guy could do though is cover your expenses!
