Adult Film Industry

Hi Everyone

Apologies first in case this isn't the right forum for this sort of question!

I have a female friend who is looking to get into the world of adult movies (yes, she wants to become a porn star lol) and I'm looking for some advise on her behalf. There doesn't seem to be much guidance on the net and shes only seen adverts in some of the national press but these seem a bit dodgy to me as they all request money up front (in the hundeds of pounds) for stated potential earnings of thousands of pounds per film.. Hmmmm not sure about that!

Has anyone followed a similar route or to be more precise, does anyone know of any reputable agencies that provide a legitimate service where she will receive good advice and wont get ripped off.

Thanks for reading!

Best Wishes

Chris

Never pay any money upfront....

Depending on location I know of a great studio that will not rip her off.

Email me if you want more details.

1) Get some good portfolio pics (nice simple nudes and headshots so people can see your smile and your body) and, ideally, a showreel.

If you haven't got these, I can organise them, free.

2) Get listed on the models sites - mine, for example.

The good ones are free.

3) Contact people direct, and keep doing so.

Most models don't market themselves consistently.

4) I can suggest a couple of good agents, but would need to see pics first.

5) See http://www.adultindustryresources.com/drupal2/node/237 (useful stuff about legal, earnings etc).

6) Get your STD Certs now, and then keep them current, (or, given that the industry pretty much goes to sleep from mid December until mid January) maybe just get ready to kick off seriously after Christmas, and book yourself in for early Jan.

And finally

I have been contacted about a kind of X Factor (well XXX Factor really) early next. They want total unknowns, and maybe she'll suit.

Drop me a line privately if you have any questions.

Cheers

Paul

Hi Everyone

Once again thanks for all the replies!

Has anyone heard of Blue Dreams Promotions? They are stating ?4,000 per scene but you have to pay a registration fee of ?300+. Based on the current replies this amount seems very high and too good to be true especially for someone yet to make a movie as the stated amount is more like ?500 max per scene judging by comments on this board.

Help please!

They're talking from the wrong end there.
