Locations in North East for outside filming

Does anyone know of any good locations to shoot and outside scene in the north east of england. Of course they need to be quiet so I can get the content shot without interuptions.
I am talking about Durham,Newcastle, Darlington or anywhere else in that area.
Also any pubs, or gyms in the same area to shoot at?
