Haha!! That's the cost of a single painting to you Stormchild! I really don't see that this is any different to the way a model determines her rates, and I will set my pricing as I see fit. Two subjects in a painting as opposed to one (broadly speaking) doubles the effort involved.

You also need to bear in mind that my non-commissioned work is offered for sale at local exhibitions, where anything too risque would not be accepted. The work I typically generate via this forum for models is done at preferential rates and if I'm going to paint something I'm less happy about doing then I will charge more for it - just as a model's pricing will reflect the amount of hard work involved, and what she's most comfortable with (not to mention the additional health risks involved).

I can readily churn out artistic solo stuff and sell it to the public at large for ?200+, so to my mind it's perfectly reasonable to charge a similar rate for something that has a potential/specialist market of one. Those who've seen my paintings in the flesh will testify that photos don't do them justice, and that my prices are far too cheap! Isn't that what YOU said?! Anywhere between 15 and 30 hours effort (not to mention a small element of skill) goes into a typical painting - how much would you have to pay to book a model for that length of time?!

I would also add that the girls who've commissioned me via this forum have had absolutely no complaints about my output to date - the only exception being a model who claimed to have "bought" a very early work 'out of sympathy' (that was actually given to her as a gift) before I had established my current reputation!
