Hi there,
I have recently been contacted by this agency who are interested in representing me in the adult industry.
So far I have been very impressed by their professionalism, but was wondering whether a) anyone else has any knowledge/opinions of them and b) whether it's the norm for agencies to charge a joining-up fee before taking people on.
All advice much appreciated.
Thanks

Sorry, mate, looks like a rip-off to me.
To start with it is normally illegal for employment agencies to charge fees, although there is a loophole for modelling.
But it is likely they are sailing close to the law as the phone number they give is Spanish!
And they're promising work for both men and women up to the age of 55 plus for other related jobs. Like lighting technicians... in porn, are they serious?
And the pay is up to ?2,000 a day. Plus ?500 per audition.
Sorry, if it seems too good to be true, it usually is.
p.s. Any girls out there who are tempted to try Blue Recruits are welcome to join the Fred Dunbar Recruitment Agency. I'll charge half their fees and shoot some top quality gonzo video of you for your showreel into the bargain. ?5k a day shoots guaranteed at some point in the future. Possibly.

It's not normal to pay agency joining fees.
For Males it is common for them to want evidence of ability and if they set up a test that might involve payment due to costs incurred (not least, the female model).
I probably get an email a month from guys who paid to be on agency books - usually around 500 quid, and it has never yet included a portfolio, or any actual work...

Hiya, this sounds like the people who advertise in the daily sport for male and female adult stars wanted. My hubby rang them up once and they wanted ?600 for the both of us to join, and promised us work in Middlesbrough the next weekend, and we would both be paid ?1200 each for a shoot!!!! Hahahaha
Needless to say, we didnt join the agency - it was called Blue Dreams, they didnt know any uk models and they were shocked when i said the going rate for b/g in this country was ?250 - it was before they went up last year!!!
Never ever pay anyone up front, thats a definite.

No opinion on them but it looks like there are more agencies than production companies these days...Ok a mild exaggeration but I dont see the point of so many agencies if there is not enough work to go around.
I wouldnt trust any agency charging an admin fee and if you get ?500 for an audition fee from anyone in the industry then they must obviously operate from a big glass building over looking the London Skyline and smoking crack!
I dont even know mainstream production companies offering ?500 for auditions otherwise their productions would run aground for all the losers theyd have to pay out on..
Sod actually getting the job. You could just make a nice living out of turning up to auditions.
