Hey guys I'm new to photography and I'm considering working with a model. What advice can any of you out there give to a beginner ? Should I shoot all photos with a prime lens such as a 50mm lens ?, also about portable studio lighting if I'm shooting on location rather than a studio, what type of equipment should I consider. TIA

why not try a camera club?

good place to start. no need to pay out for top of the range items to start with.
you can go,meet other photographers, get tips, ask advice etc etc.....

davyboy why not try an event like those held at saracen house studio or ImagesXposed Studio Days.

http://www.saracenhousestudio.co.uk/events.html

You only need a camera or they will even hire you one and it's a good way to start because you are not spending out loads of cash.

You can easy do an hour around ?50 including studio hire.
