Hey guys,
I am looking for a camera along the lines of a Sony HVR-A1E Single Chip 1080i so that I can start booking beautiful models like Krystal for a shoot.
Does anyone know where I can get the best deal on kit like this?

Hmmm, I'll have to squirrel away some pennies!!

Not sure that anything that complex as an HVRA1E is needed for making a start in porn. Shooting Hi Def has limited point, as it's over the top for downloadable files (in the UK at least where download speeds are limited) and you're not going to be making BluRays disks!

I shoot with a small pseudo-Hi-Def JVC camera, but it's a 3-chip so the clarity of picture is preserved in many ways even when you edit at standard def. And it's small and easy to handle, and has audio input and a hot shoe for light. Cost me ?440. Not many of them around now but there are similar models (including from the dreaded Sony).

Excuse my ignorance but what is 3 chip? Are there any examples of this camera footage on your link?

3 chip - 3 ccds, (I think one for each of Red Green Blue wavelengths).

Historically considered better than single chip, but not sure if that is still the case.

have to agree, after seeing the Red Dot nothing else will ever seem the same again.

Red can be quite problematic in post.

Get a Sony Z1 ( a fair few years old but still accepted as true broadcast spec in SD mode) or if you want something that shoots unbelievably stunning footage at a reasonable price get an EX-1.
