I have decided to take a new tack on this.I forward half of a ?50 note to the said lady.If she turns up for the shoot,she get's the other half,plus whatever fee has been agreed.This works well in Eastern Europe with USD 100 bills,and has certainly reduced the number of ''no shows''.Costly(a bit) but practical.

I dont understand no shows-if you agree to everything discussed,whats the problem with a quick call or email to say something has arisen,giving you the opportunity to either reschedule,or get someone else (where possible)...You maintain integrity,and can always still work together,as opposed to uncomfortably avoiding each other... !wink! x

Errrr, or if said girl doesn't turn up, instead of her just wasting your time, you've lost ?50 too.

There'll always be timewasters. It's part of the job and as a producer i've heard all the excuses in the book. Don't waste your money too birty.

I was assuming it was a one on one shoot i.e tog (you) and the model in your place. Not a full on crew and cast of 5 in a stately mansion.

No need really to name and shame. Just see it as that that's the way the biz runs in this country.

In other countries we've shot in we have never had one no-show and if a girl was 'ill' on the day, the agent replaced the girl immediately and the shoot still started on time!!!!

A small reminder - I allow "no show" etc comments on AIR.

A girl gets a few of them, and she gets booted. (Meanwhile they are up there to be seen).

Models - there is a ukproducers area where idiot/dangeropus togs can be discussed as well.
