I know there's been one or two posts on choosing a camera for shooting some of the uk's fav amateur models, and as I am embarking on such a project, I would like the opinion of those who are already in the buisness on the Canon XHA1 HD Camcorder in comparison to say higher range models offered by JVC, Sony, etc.

Also one of the camera's we use, we also have 2 XL's to go with the XH.

I like Canon, never had a problem and I'm a member of Canon Professionals so next day repairs and service on my goods.

There maybe better spec'd cameras but this is ROCK solid and reliable.

Beautiful L series quality lens. Can feel a bid heavy for prolong hand held shoot, especially when using a large capacity battery.

I do all my filming now with the Cannon XHA1. It's an excellent camera and I would recommend it. It's a nice solid camera which is easy to use. I use it on automatic settings all the time but you can use it manually with some presets. It's a heavy camera but that doesn't present any problems for me, and I never use a tripod.

There are some video samples here:

for you to see the quality of the video.

That looks pretty cool, I was pricing up a Sony Z1 but now I'm not so sure...

Check these guys out for cameras

This firm is doing offers on the XHA1 right now. Have a look and compare prices. I know they are a very reputable dealer.

Awesome, cheers Andy :)
I can't quite stump up that much cash right now but I'll keep it in mind for the near future!
