Does anyone know anything about BMA Modles and can anyone vouch for this company?

You may have already done this but have you carried out a companies house search/report on them as they claim to be limited,

Stormchild makes a useful point about Companies House and it being registered there but that's not going to tell you whether or not they're ever going to do what they say.

When you go into a shop to buy a cake you forget to ask yourself if you're actually going to walk out with anything to eat... and this is because it's too bloody obvious right?!
Of course you'll get what you're paying for.

Okay so let's use the principle of 'purchase expectation' in this case.

1. What does your friend's daughter want?
2. Will this agency provide it?
3. Will it be value for money? (on the assumption that there is a charge).

Some questions cannot be answered here because I don't have a bloody clue about this person but I can make some educated guesses.

1. The girl doesn't want to go down the route of naughty pictures otherwise you'd just advertise her yourself to reputable people you know from here. So we're looking at the extremely hit-and-miss world of fashion, character and general bollocks modelling. A world that most of us know makes models fuck-all money and therefore makes most agencies nothing from percentages. Most agencies make money from models paying for services. Good agencies (ones with lots of work contacts that actually call THEM) are hard to spot and as you should know from your time in this business it's impossible to tell who's running a part-time business from their back bedroom just by what their site looks like - and even by a Companies House registration.

2. This agency could be the dog's bollocks for all I know. They may have tons of work going through their books on a daily business but if they do I would want to see references from models (of MY choice) and links to companies they have provided models for. I would also like to see a breakdown of what they actually do to get me work. They don't have to be breaking their backs for me but the work they do has to be in some way commensurate with the fee right?
To be honest I don't like them at all for a couple of reasons - the site tries to sing and dance but then makes it as difficult as possible to actually book a model. Why not email them (as this seems the only way) and pretend to need some models and see what they do... and how well, promptly and professionally they do it. This place looks suspiciously like it is a site that will appeal to models and therefore squeeze fees from them. A good agency site will appeal to a client just as much as the model - if not MORE!
Tey should know this especially when they describe themselves as "the UK's leading Model Agency." !!!

3. I have been working on the assumption up till now that the agency needs to be viewed in a careful way... but suppose everything's fine and dandy. Does your friend's daughter actually have what it takes to get into her chosen area of work?

Otherwise she'll be paying for her cake but not eating it!

If I were you I would go down the line of applying as far as possible until you get to the payments part and then get back to us on it.

You're right UglyDaz with your assumption that she's not looking at getting into naughty photos otherwise I would have put her forward on here.

I've always been suspicious of model agencies looking at making money from from fees paid by hopeful models without any intention of finding them any work.
