I'm going to buy a new camera but my budget isn't massive. At present I have an oldish DSLR. Do I really need to buy another DSLR or are the so called "step" cameras up to the job now?

Re: New Camera?
I would always go for dslr since ive had one, no other choice. I must say, auto cameras are getting pretty fantastic in quality, similar to the hd tiny hand held jvc dv cams you can get.

Re: New Camera?
Which camera do you have currently? What lenses and other equipment? Where are the images going to be used?
Remember the best camera is the one you have with you.
