I havent suffered any financial loss with regards to this activity...well maybe the odd one or two have mentioned boycotts in the past but if I equate porn to an addiction to crack, if I have what they want then they'll make like Schwarzennegger and be back anyway.

Does speaking to a producer who winds you up affect your hard ons to the quality of their work?

Since i started i have always talked to people & they love it because it makes you real to them, so many stars separate themselves & fans don't like it.
It don't matter if you have had a barny with someone on a forum because again this happens in real life.
It will even make your porn that bit more special to them as you are then a normal person as well as a porn-star/producer etc, porn politics are rarely talked about as they are happy just getting a response.

Speaking to fans will only fetch you closer to them & should improve business.

I think so, if i had a falling out with a producer/website owner on a forum, it would almost certainly stop me signing up to their website, Adult related or not. Unless they were selling something that was really outstanding that similar couldnt be got elsewhere.

I feel you should treat the internet the same as any other business.

Whether someone is getting on your nerves or not, they are a customer and should be treated that way.

Of course, people will say things on the internet that they would possibly not say in a face to face situation but I feel, you need to rise above it and not get drawn in.

I don't think you can relate porn to drugs but if you must, there are plenty of dealers out there and you'd have to be very arrogant to believe your product is not replaceable by someone else's. ( Not aimed at you Terry, just a generalisation )

I've seen some threads on here recently that have made me cringe. People being called Mother Fuckers, customers being called simple etc etc

I really do wonder if this would have been said in a face to face situation?

We have always stuck up for the little guys of porn e.g. amateur film makers, escorts, part time models (housewives/swingers), because of this we get lots of e-mails from these people etc on this & other forums, you would expect bad press because of the arguments but fans seem to love it.
You can't please all the people all the time & the industry is big enough for everyone, getting on with your fans is important because there are plenty more sites out there, not letting them in even if its just a little bit makes them wonder how genuine you are & will affect long term business.

I am often amazed on here how insulting towards customers the representatives of these sites can be. Clearly it isn't all of them, but realistically it shouldn't be any of them. There aren't many lines of business where you can flat out insult your customer base and get them coming back!

I'm afraid to say you are right KellyH, there's been some quite nasty stuff being said on this forum recently. What I think a few producers who post on here forget, is that for the dozen or so people who actually post, there are many 1000's who read!

In recent times I have been trying to send out a fairly positive view, with this in mind. I enjoy talking and writing to so called "Fans" although I don't think I have fans, but the girls on my site do and I'm always happy to talk about them to anybody who wants to listen! !grin!

Without "fans" we'd be all dead in the water!

In many ways it works in the opposite - it can be very good for business.

I'm sure Marino, Jimslip and certainly Angel & Lolly have got a few more subscriptions from me due to their activity on the forum.
