Help, give up or keep trying?(thanks)

Can I start by again thanking the wonderful Satine & Masie for the help & info they gave me. I guess this post is trying to find more people like them amongst the porn family, there's a really great guy called Paul I'm trying to find, who spent 30 mins on phone with me answering my questions, as well last Thursday I think.

I've had a really bad week of people taking the piss or really feeling put out when agencies don't respond despite me having referances or trying to put me off, I don't name & shame as I'm not a petty prick.

I still want to do it I think but I'm looking for a mentor if you will to answer my questions as I feel so out of my depth. Like basic things such as levels what should I be telling people? Can you see why I'm fustrated as I've found something I love but have no idea what I'm doing & people all the time treating me like an outsider doesn't help.

Hate to breakit to you Matty P but while many people are actually friendly and helpful, it is hard to take people serious on just the basis of asking.

Most, if not all the producers you can name found their way in with little to no help.

Just because you did a video with two girls doesnt automatically give you keys tot he executive washroom.

You posted on another thread on here and I can understand your frustration but people are trying to break into all areas of media and met with the same brick wall.

If I seem cynical then its simply because when I have provided opportunities that have proved itself fruitless because no ne wanted to put their money where their mouth is and literally expected to be tried out for free (as if the girls work for nothing by shagging new guys fro free)

Add on top that times are hard and people are struggling to keep their head above water and not shooting much and you will get some idea that a lot of people are wondering why you are even bothering if there is no money to be made....Hence are you in it to shag the girls?

Thanks for the response, I love the washroom analogy but I'm not wanting to represent myself as an executive.
I've done stuff before & if you check out Emma Butt's freeone page the 1st thing I did is listed under "Emma & friend make guy come hard" & it's the reason I want to do more to be part of the purest form of entertain there is with people I admire. I've done 4, 5 if you count being an extra, scenes & I just want people to start thinking "yes this guy is for real". I don't do it for the money but I expect to get paid as I have done if you forgive the pun I come cheap. If someone getting 3 a time from me that's worth something. Do I do it for the girls hell yes I do it to meet the people male & female that I admire, I'm more than just a life support system for a penis so sex isn't my main driving force either.
What I'm asking isn't the secret rites of porn, what I'm asking is that people recognise that here's someone intrested & serrious about what we do but is finding getting started hard so lets offer some help.
Going back to levels styles etc as an example I've no idea what to say when asked this is my point. It's not a question ever asked outside of porn so I have to learn it from the inside & no one seems prepared to tell me. See my logic is that I'm straight but would go as far as sucking cock no swallow or anal toys only provided it was a woman. That's not even a level, so how would I phrase that? Stuff like that.

ok this is how I see this, its all acting, so if you were trying to get a conventional acting job you would have a showreel to send off.

Id start with that and send it to everyone and then follow it up with a call to see if they got it and ask what they thought.

I maybe wrong but this is what I would do if i were you.

Thats how it should be done so producers can make up their own minds before taking the gamble.

That's a sound plan Melody & that's what I'm hoping on getting up & running with soon from last Sunday's shoot. I sort of have TV alumni which although is more closed industry at least there's a place for answers & feedback. I'm a writer(sort of).

One Eyed Jack will definately get in touch as you're stuff isn't unknown to me lol, so be good to have that on my CV too.

Sorry if I'm caustic sometimes it's just I try to keep my certs upto date despite my phobia of needles (Not looking forward tomorrow as having hepatitis vaccinations on top of tests), went through the telling the family thing & I'm willing to work with short notice etc so really annoys me that I do everything I'm asked only for someone to tell me I'm not serrious or be promised stuff that never happens. I don't want to hassle people for stuff but sometimes I have too just to get an answer.

The girls were awesome on Sunday as they had a really in depth conversation with me about the business & so I go from a really postive experience like that or my one with Emma to one like the week of negative ones with people thinking I'm just another one of the "here's a pic of my cock" guys or those not even willing to cover my travel costs for work.

I love porn it's like the purest for of entertainment since the days of Euripides & before. Just don't want making it to spoil it.

Hey Jack :)
I was just having a scan through this thread and wanted to make sure you didn't have me confused with Matt P seeing as I have pretty much only just started out as well.
I have shot two girls so far and I wanted to assure you that all of the help I have had has been of huge benefit to me. I have no desire to get my mitts on the executive washroom keys right now, I for one am happy with what I am doing and where I am going.

Matt P (nice name btw)
If you want to do this I think you will have to accept that there is no big pot of cash just over the horizon. From my point of view I can see that there is a limited opportunity to make money in this game short term. That is not why I am doing it anyway. I am treating it like a hobby (in a professional way of course) and if I happen to make some money and learn some stuff, so much the better.
There are an awful lot of people who come onto these forums and say things like, "Hey, I'm new and where do I start? Any models want to try out a new stud?" etc etc. A lot of them are chancing their arm and you can see why the older and more established members of this site might be reticent about spending a lot of time answering questions for people who are not entirely serious.
My advice would be to hang around the forum, listen to the advice given out to others. Ask relevant questions and be polite. People will eventually see that you are for real and be more willing to help you. It has taken me a good 8 months to start getting to know a few people and have them feel comfortable with giving up their valuable time to me :)
Take care and good luck :)
Matt
