Try Mr Cad (Croydon) for Multiblitz Pro X 1000 watt video light with softbox and lightweightstand. It'll be the best investment plus they have secondhand gear.

they do the job pretty well.

The Arrai RedHead set is good, but you'll also need the diochric daylight filter which are even more rare than the redheads.

The filter make the light, daylight, so your camera's white balance reads daylight not tungsten or flourencent or whatever.

Plus the models eyes will gets used to the filtered light after some mins and you'll be able to position better at the model/scene. Some lights are just too bright. I tried 'blonde's' (next up from redheads) once and completely fucked the scene. Now I just use the Pro x's which are also very small and protable.

You don't need daylight filter if you close the curtains and use only tungsten lighting - just set the camera for tungsten, although most cameras recognise the lighting "colour temperature" and adjust themselves.

The only reason to use blue daylight filters is when you are mixing daylight with artificial. This gives the camera (on auto) a hard time to maintain decent and consistant flesh tones, unless you filter the artifical to daylight colour temperature.

What's wrong with Blondes? They are 2000 watt versions of 800 watt redheads with a much larger reflector. I have Arri ones and they're great although you really don't need this much light with modern cameras - I bought my Arris when I was shoolting with 3-tube cameras onto 3/4" Umatic tape and 16 mm film before that! It's always best to use reflected light from white ceilings or through umbrellas to soften shadows.

I must say, I got fed up with lugging round heavy 2000 watt lamps and just used cheap 500 watt floodlights from B&Q or Screwfix. Much cheaper and lighter. Chuck them away if the lamp blows as they're only ?5 or so. Just use umbrellas or squirt them at the ceiling as the reflectors are small and direct lighting is harsh.
