It's that time of year again when the "Focus on Imaging" show comes to the NEC in Birmingham will anyone be attending?.

The dates are from March 7th until March 10th.

Hi Nikonman :)
How are you doing chap?
I won't be going but I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of a good stills camera that won't cost the earth please?
The shots I put up here before of the lovely Hollyxx and Danielle were done using the still function of my videocamera and although they are quite good, it is a fairly stop/start process.
I would love your thoughts please.
Take care mate, hope you are ok.

hey Matty, we have just got a new one, not top end but the pictures are really really good quality, its the Nikon 5000. We did have a sony a200 before this one which was a good starter, but felt we needed something better, im really loving the Nikon.

hope this helps a bit

Hi gorgeous :) lol

That is cool, thanks, I will have a look and see what I can find. I don't specialise in stills but I figured a good stills camera might be of benefit?

I hope you are ok Melody, good to hear from you :)

Take care.

Big Matty P,
I am certain that the other readers of the forum will be able to give you far better advice than i could.
In fact I would be interested in reading their coments as well.

Hope you have enjoyed your time away, and I look forward to you posting some new photos on here when you get around to shooting again
Did you have any response from your ad. looking for models?.
If you come across any in the South Yorks or Midlands area looking for shoots please let us all know.

The Panasonic FZ38 get quite good reviews. Should be easy to use.

Ha ha, ok mate, I'll keep you posted!
I had a few nice replies but mostly they are miles away and I haven't got the time to travel or a place for them to travel to! Catch 22!
Take care mate, chat soon :)

Thanks Touchpaper:)
I'll have a scout around and see what I find. Like I said, I don't need a top model camera, just one to put reasonable thumbs etc on my site.
Thanks for the review dude :)
Take care.

Hi mate,

If your looking for a reasonable 'first' camera try looking on e-bay for something like a Nikon D40 - good starter digital SLR and you can normally get a good deal with a couple of lenses for circa ?200.
