Hi Babe
I use Windows Movie Maker - its really easy to use and you get a fairly decent film at the end. Depends how brilliant a quality you need, but for showreels its alright

People are wary of editing other peoples work because it's hard to mind read.
For simple editing Windows Movie Maker is fine, free and you've got it - I used it for hundreds of clips, until I went mad and bought Sony Vegas.

Perhaps not....when I'm in simpleton mode, I use Pinnacle which is cheap and easy to use and does all you need and comes with some sound effects and fancy transitions etc.
