A while back you referred to the institue of modelling:

The Institute of Modeling have asked us to draw attention their complaints form. Any information submitted will be passed on to DC Christopher Page anonymously. The identity of the person making the complaint will NOT be revealed.

I asked you who they were and while I dont claim to know everyone in the business, something as legitimiate sounding as this has escaped my knowledge. ive heard no reference to it through AITA nor ETO or frankly anyone bar a couple models who have subscribed to it and said it hasnt doen anything for them.

Someone posted on the UKAP facebook profile that this was just a PO Box and could be any body (could even be the same idiot stalking the girls) so my question to the mods is how can you endorse an unrecognised institute on a particiarly sensitive situation regarding models safety without knowing who they are????

Not picking a fight. just wondering as I accept I dont know everyone and im sure other people would like to know as anything promoting model safety should at least be brough to industry attention

I've just done a "Whois" search and it shows the name the domain is registered to and their address (which is a C/O to a Post Office in Broadway, Worcestershire).
The "Whois" record also gives 2 telephone numbers. One is a UK 0870 number but the second is an 84 dialling code which, according to the BT website, is for Vietnam.

Make your own mind up.

I'm just wondering why the mods went off the range to promote someone who could help the models when there are more recognised names that are known who could have assisted is all

Dear All,

The Institute of Modeling website is down at the moment for essential maintenance will be up and running again Monday 11th October.

I am unsure what the issue with The Institute of Modeling is in connection with, but please feel free to email us if you have any queries or concerns about what we do / who we work with.

I can confirm that we were involved with DC Chris Page in reference to the Rocky Dillon / Natasha Tah case and the tracking of the individual. We acted on this case, merely to provide assistance with reference to his contact towards models etc. The case has now been resolved and the individual concerned has been dealt with by the police.

If I can be of any further help, please feel free to contact rob@instituteofmodeling.org

Kindest Regards,

Rob Skinner,
Managing Director
Institute of Modeling.

Hi Rob

For the sake of transparency it may be best to conduct this openly here rather than relay the information.

As a producer I've been around since the late 90's and thought I knew who all the main players were.

Would you mind clarifying as to what kind of models you cater for and what exactly do you do? Are you an agent? Model training? Fashion? Adult? Glamour?

Just be good to know is all so I can say I know a bit more about you in case other people ask since it was brought to my attention again elsewhere than here and I couldnt provide an answer to who you are.

firstly, the website is now back live which will give everyone a lot more info about what we do.

In essence we work much like a trade union for the industry. Although we offer lots services to the model industry, the main areas we work within are;

1) Education
We have a range of courses developed, currently going through the QCF framework for models, scouts and agents. The main aim of having a qualification is to reduce the amount of scams within the industry and increase the standards across the board.

2) Protect
We work with police forces, trading standards and BIS to provide information to those investigating certain people within the industry and provide a mediation service for those that have issues within the industry.

3) Inform
We provide simple bite-size updates on legislation changes so that all those within the industry can get an update on items (such as the upfront fee ban), without having to read a 200-page document.

4) Support
We also provide financial and legal support to models, agents, scouts and photographers within the industry. This is will be further supported by a new charity we are in the process of forming for people in the industry experiencing difficult times; we shall be able to provide grants of up to ?500 per person.

5) Promote
We are working be bring a better understanding of health issues around the model industry, specifically a more advanced method of assessing underweight models. Promoting safety campaigns such as the You're Fit campaigns across schools and colleges in the UK.

In ref to who we cater for; we are setup for the entire industry however; our main activity is within the fashion and glamour industries.

Hope this is of some help, much more info on everything we do is available online at

Kindest,

Rob Skinner.
