All - important changes to UK porn laws are proposed. Please read this Register article. I'm quoted on behalf of AITA.
Maybe someone should ask Safermedia this: If they support opt-in age verification for sexual imagery why aren't they requesting the same for violent imagery? Or do they find internet access to someone giving head more disturbing than someone being beheaded?
It's probably more productive to concentrate on portraying this absurd, impractical proposal as an overweaning example of the Nanny State rather than a party political issue. There are plenty of leftists who are just as anti-porn as the religious right - albeit for different ideological reasons.
