i was just wondering if there was much business potential in porn? i know it may seem a silly question as you all have your own fee paying sites, however with all these free porn sites do you still make any money???

If you find a niche yes there is still money to make, not as much as 2 years ago but most of us are not running at a loss...yet lol!

Seriously it is HARD and not in a porn pun kind of way... I been doing it 10 years, and each year as got harder...

Some will tell you to "adapt or die" and to some degree this is true... but alas the ways to make the real money are pretty much beyond most of us...

As Kim said you really need to find a niche... that's the only thing where you will get real true members who stay loyal to you... just good old tits and add getting fucked all over the place just dont cut the mustard...

The times have changed...Por has to be about something and no just porn in itself if that makes sense. Decipher that code and you stand a pretty good chance.

Some people think I am trying to put of the competition when I say things that put them off then go ahead and crash and burn 6 months to a year later because

a: They didnt launch the site

b: Couldnt maintain the steady updates that surgfers require to even trust subscribing to a site

Seems to me most sites failure to launch is on the basis of point B

When sites are only publishing a movie update "Part 1" this week next part 2 and 3 "Coming Soon" to try and pull a re-billing customer it says it all really why punters can easily be put off joining a site and staying. In this day and current economical climate if your site doesn't offer a decent chunk of movies/images/stories plus updates and incentives to stay then you can soon see why sites fail. Trouble is once a punter has been caught they don't usually let it happen again and turn to the free stuff and the good sites suffer then.

By stealing from other sites that own the content and selling advertising space based on the traffic generated by the freeloaders

And by charging for 'premium' (better picture quality) dowloads.

Well some free sites are legit affiliates who promote sponsors for a commission...

But as the two gentlemen above said... it usually involves theft... funny thing is some of the biggest free sites/tubes/message boards are actually run by some of the biggest sponsors out there... and they are ripping fellow programs off the most !
