Just found some of my stuff on a free site and more on a download/fileshare site. Wankers.

I'd be grateful if someone could suggest exactly how much I should insult the thieving bastards while writing to them.

I'd leave any insults until later.

I know you won't get anything but start for sending them a invoice (bill) for "unauthorised use of (your) copyrighted material". Also require them to remove all of your material.

When that fails, send them a DMCA notice. They "may" take notice of that?

If not, send the DMCA notice to their "webserver", they are more likely to take notice and will either take the "offending" material off themselves or may even close the website down.

A company called Muso run a good automated service where they identify your content and send take-down notices for you. There's a small monthly fee, but it works pretty well.
