Thanks Harmony. AITA and all it's committee members are doing all they can to help the UK industry, but AITA needs yours and all other performers with web sites, adult sites and business to join AITA and help fund this fight.

Committee members work for FREE but AITA does have running cost's and to increase our fight and to look at other options such as judicial reviews AITA needs to increase it's revenue.

Membership starts at just ?50 for the year and you can pay quarterly. With open meetings for advise & networking, together we are stronger. For all the membership details go to http://www.aita.co.uk/?page_id=106 or admin@aita.co.uk.

Look forward to seeing some new members soon.

It seems to me that if people are tryingto protect their interests of their business in the long term should join AITA because it is cheaper than having to shut your site down

Ultimately this is what ATVOD are trying to do by telling you how to do your business.

You cant put pictures on the front is effectively like having blacked out windown on a sex shop on the high street.

This doesnt work for the internet People will just go elsewhere. Who wil buy into something when they dont know what is being sold.

ATVOD claims it is trying to protect the children

If they were really trying to do this then they would do something to earn that money they want by providing a solution tothe problem of free tube sites and filesharers.

While these two options can openly flourish then protecting the kids is like pissing in the wind.

Ive said it so many times already. I cannot see a child typing in www.pornsite.com when they can get porn easily next to their free music and films on the internet whith out a credit card.

Why should you fight it?

Because it is all part of the bigger scheme to regulate and control the internet. There is a game being played right now and the reward for the endgame is control. They will slap so many restrictions you will not be able to make any money from adult services

You can see the beginnings of this in the surveillance laws just passed.

ATVOD rely on legislation to consolidate their position. So join AITA and fight it!

Several people have, including me. I am not optimistic about a successful appeal. ATVOD only has to use the magic words "protecting our children" and a judge would have to find against the adult industry or else suffer the wrath of the Daily Mail etc.

Under ATVOD's regime it is not possible to run an adult website legally in the UK so, what with the general decline in the industry, I am bowing out and retiring.

Is it just me or is their address rather prophetic: Sheet Street!

...and I see no expense spared for their glorious edifice, Windsor no less, no austerity there then with there fat fees!

Lets say this isn't a war on porn per se but for the sake of keeping up appearances its probably cheaper there than in the heart of Soho where Pete Johnson (ATVODS chief officer) was previously stationed when he worked for the BBFC.

"its probably cheaper there than in the heart of Soho "

I guess, but an office on an industrial estate in Slough or Milton Keynes may have kept the fees down a bit.

Interesting to see that Mr Desmond has his own personal board member to look after his interests!
