Value for Money

When purchasing porn, is value-for-money a consideration?
Video/DVD programmes vary from 60 minutes to three hours. Casts vary from a single couple to 7 or 8 girls and several blokes (I exclude compilations and specialist subjects like gangbang/bukkake). However prices range from ?15-30 with no relation to length, scenes or number of performers.
I sometimes calculate a conjoining index which is the number of different performer-to-performer couplings. In a single couple video this can only be one, but with multiple performers in a scene and several scenes in the programme the permutations rise dramatically giving ten, twenty or more.
So who buys on quantity and who buys on quality (allegedly)?
