Fiona Cooper - sold up?

I was wondering if Fiona Cooper has sold her business? Or maybe her mailing list?

I got a small brochure this called Spirit, using a London address. But the wording, style and everything else (even the stuff on the envelope) are clearlt FC.

I wonder if she's sold up?

Got a flyer from FC today, hot on the heels of the new cat., threatening all sorts of legal intrusions for those who ordered from that Spirit outfit........
......according to which, ostensibly punters MIGHT be required to make a police statement so FC can prosecute the breakaway faction. Yeah.....right: more like they're trying to queer the others' pitch (and why not? Just be honest about it.....). So they're relying on the natural desire of most customers for anonymity, and playing on that fear.
Patronising and minatory: enough to put one off FC for good. Don't drag us into your turf wars.
And given Mr Sutcliffe's popularity with the Myrmidons of the Law, I can't exactly see them falling over themselves to help him..............

Really, and what criminal offence could the normal punter help able to help the beak with in their enquires with this.?

Buying stuff from competitors is NOT a criminal offence. Remember folkes he can get them on the 'selling non BBFC classified videos' law - cus I'm sure the police would like to take a fair few hundred thousand other offences much closer to home into consideration!

This could get interesting though...

Exactly: the fact that FC have got way with that particular offence for years hardly increases the likelihood of a visit by Yorkshire CID's finest.
To be fair to FC, there was no suggestion in their flyer that buying the rival vids was an offence by the PURCHASER, possibly merely the vendor. Anyway, I imagine that this alleged theft of copyrighted material would be a Civil matter.

Reading the past messages I noticed that a Mr Sutcliffe's name mentioned, is this the same family of the notorios Mr Sutcliffe now detained at HM's pleasure.

Don't think so, but do a search here if you're after the whole story.

A theory: Someone who used to work for FC waltzed off with a copy of the customer base, and set up a new business? May have even nicked the envelopes seeing as they have Halifax on 'em!

Hardly a revelation, given that's exactly what FC have said !!

The trouble is, any boast of confidentiality for a mailing-list is only as trustworthy as the employees.
