Is it worth it .......

If this post is on the wrong forum I apologise to the mods.....
I book a very beautiful lady for a HJ/BJ shoot (done several times) ... put some sample pics up for a preview and give you the chance to buy it at a low price ..... and do you want it .... seems not.
So my question is .... Is it worth the bloody effort, I listen to peoples complaints about Porn today and try to bring a little of the erotic back .... I PUT MY HARD EARNED MONEY WHERE MY MOUTH IS ..... SO WHERE'S YOURS.
Maybe I should just forget the UK market and concentrate on the US market like 99% producers out there do, and it makes me think if a should plough in loads of money into making my 1st H/C film if this is the sort of response I will get.
Maybe this is what it wrong with the UK industry .... the little guy seems to be fighting uphill all the time to get the punters attention for there own material. How do you think the little guy can afford these girls .... by you guys buying the videos .... you don't buy .... I can't hire models .... result ... another small time producer gives up on the UK and goes to the US.
I do understand that not many out there are into HJs ... hence the reason why nearly all my videos now contain BJ (at least 50% BJ and 50% HJ) and the girls always brings the guy off, which is seriously lacking in today porn.
So there's my whinge for today .... and maybe I should be off to the US to sell my product.
OH ...... I've hit the big 40 today ..... (-:

I think , regardless of content of your product ( which I havent seen), and, regardless of what you think the punter will/will not buy, you are simply overlooking some of the baisc principles of business;
First, you have to give the consumer what they want, not what you think they want - thats where most business go wrong.
Secondly - you have to speculate to accumulate so sorry, you're going to have to stop moaning about not having the money for the girls, and keep investing.
Thirdly - building up a business takes time . No-one hands it to you on a plate ( which is why you need to keep investing)
Fourth - you need a plan. Maybe you think you're having a bit of fun hiring models etc., etc., etc. but this IS a business. Do you have a business plan ? What are your cash inevestment, projection and return plans? Very few new businesses make any real money until at least year 3.
Five - like it or not, you need to treat your customers with repsect. If I was one of YOUR prospective customers I wouldn't go and look at your product after reading your post. See point number 1
I could go on and on and on. And yes I am qualified to speak on the topic - I have set up a number of business over the years. You learn the hard way. Thats why I'm now making money.
Email me if you want any further advice.

You're obviously feeling very frustrated, but this is not the right approach to dealing with your problem.
Why is it our fault that we haven't bought your product? Has it occurred to you that perhaps there might be something wrong with the product itself, or with your marketing?
Nobody owes you a living. If the punters aren't buying, it's your fault and nobody else's. You need to do a little market research and find out what is wrong with your approach, not come here and ignore the first rule of business, which is "the customer is always right".
Some questions:
Do people want this sort of product?
Is the quality up to scratch?
Are the performers attractive?
Is the price right?
Are you reaching the right market?
Do you have a reputation for good customer service?
If the answer to any of these is No, then that's what you need to work on.
Best wishes
George

So you haven't seen the content yet you feel you can comment on it.
1st .... i've listen to the punters and made videos to fill that gap
2nd ... was i moaning about spending money .... 80% of the money earned goes back into the girls and videos.
3rd ... been running HJH for 2 years now ... i'm not just some newbie that's just appeared
4th .... business plan has been in place for a while now.
5th ... treat customers with respect .... did i disrespect anyone ... ???
My product has no problems selling in the States and most of the rest of the world .... hence the question is it worth carrying on here in the UK..the problem is here in the UK .... yes i have some customers and they seem to very happy with the product ...
So should i or should i not forget the UK market and piss of to the states.

I don't think there is a market for porn in the UK. Too many providers, too few customers.

Of course there is a market for porn in the UK. Your main problem is that you do not have enough traffic. Mulitply your traffic by 10 and you would not be writing this but would be going to the Aston Martin garage and ordering in a Vanquish.

I fully sympathise with Micks dilemma, he has invested lots and has banged his head against the wall trying to promote his products with free access to pictures on his site using well-known models. He is a regular contributor on the forum, never dis-respects other producers and has found a niche in the market and tried like mad to make something from it.
I posted a few days ago suggesting it shouldn't be too long before Mick is up with the big boys of porn, and I stand by that.
The 'mainstream porn' that saturates the market by the major producers is excellent, and Im always up for that, but when something new comes along at an excellent price, its worth a look.
If a well-known name brings out a new release, you buy it regardless because you KNOW it will be good.........but why? The models are the same models Mick uses. I think Mick has something very good here and I honestly hope he doesn't piss off to the US, but I can see where he's coming from.
Yes it is!

Don't give up yet, it'll be at least 3-4 years before dirtyoldmania really sets in, so use your spring years wisely!
I will be in a position to do some serious internet marketing via a theme website getting decent traffic and featuring non-corporate producers such as yourself. It's all free by the way and a few months off and the site will have been properly promoted for over a year by then.
All I ask in return is the opportunity to shoot some decent HC now and again, which I will do for free the first time and see if you like it, but I will give you a link anyhow probably.
