Presuming you are talking about stills, it depends what software you are using to view the DVD. I can speak only about Power DVD. If you are using that, you just press C when you see something you want to grab. If there is fairly rapid movement at the time, it won't look very good. I suppose the faster your machine and DVD drive the better it will look.

If you right click over the window, select configuration and then select capture, you can choose which folder the files go into and what to call them.

Presumably other software has something similar which maybe others can help with.

I agree PowerDVD does a great job of screen grabs, to aviod motion blur, just try pausing the action at the scene you want to capture that way you know exactly which frame you are grabbing.

Cheeers CC.

Tried this. Doesnt seem to be working.

Lets get this straight -

See something i like, Press 'C'. Now where does this picture go to?

I tried right clicking, then configuration but can't see 'Capture' anywhere.

This is on Power DVD.

Let me know what i'm doing wrong please!

In my version of Power DVD there's little icon of a camera on the control panel. When you press this it copies the DVD frame to your clipboard....

Then just open up a graphics program like Photoshop and do File>New>Paste.

I've got powerdvd xp
go to configuration (control-c) or click the hammer and anvil icon, you get the general tab open, go to the 'advanced...' button at the bottom, click the capture tab, select the 'capture to file' radio button and set the path to where you want to save to.

I've got an old version - 2.5. The camera icon is there but it's quicker to press C.

On right clicking over the Power DVD screen window and selecting configuration I get a card-index type window and capture is one of the card-tags at the top. When you click on this you get a choice of Capture to clipboard, Capture to Wallpaper (Center), Capture to Wallpaper (File) and Capture to File. Each has a button. Select the last and you can then choose which folder the grabs go into.

Of course this may be entirely redesigned in later versions.
