Can anyone tell me if the Private
shops advertised in the Daily Sport
now sell REAL UNCUT adult videos?
I was ripped off by one of their
shops in 1991 who sold me softcore
rubbish as hardcore.

so was i in 86 the upton park branch,tell yer wat guvnor he said ill do yer 3 for 90 quid wen i got the f#home they were soft porn ,polish crap by the writing,got a contact mag their too all the ads were from luton i was very angry.

Everything that is R18 certified is hardcore.

I don't want to promote DS's shops so word of advice;

The salesman in a private shop is trained to take as much money as possible from a punter. So never spend more than your willing to. I can't talk about London shops but Private shops elsewhere have vids/dvds priced between ?35 to ?60 DON'T PAY THIS AMOUNT, haggle, you can get them down to ?20 for 1 and ?30/35 for 2, which I think is reasonable if it's the stuff you want.

p.s don't haggle when there are other customers in the shop you won't find it so easy.

so in other words these guys can more or less charge wat they like ,supply/demand.

also currently the quality of product in the ds shops is poooor for example they seem to sell their own versions of the genuine Private films which have been cut up, messed about with, bear little relation to the original and manage to downgrade dvd quality to somewhere around old 8mm film.

in short nowdays there is very little reason to have to resort to going into such shops. The genuine european private films, passed at r18 are distributed in the uk by Hot Rod Productions and not Private Shops a list of stockists is given on the Hot Rod website.

Yes, if you're willing to pay they will take your money. On the other hand they would rather take some money off you than let you walk away.

London shops ?20 is normal price. Usually ?35 gets you two tapes.

I agree with the other posters in this thread. Even IF Dinky Dave is now allowed to sell us proper gear. Who in thier right mind would want to line the pockets of a firm which has systematically conned, tricked and robbed punters for years. Steve56 tale is very familiar. Most of us at some time will have replied to an ad in a paper only to get ripped off.

Little Dave lives in a 56 bedroom mansion paid for by him being clever enough to con the punters for 25+ years without actually breaking the law.

Dont buy from Private shops. Instead support the likes of Your Choice, Marcus Allen, HCC or your local independant sex shop and others who instead of ripping us off have actually risked prison to give us real hardcore during the bad old days.

Dont forget that during the nineties Your Choice were targetted by the police and a number of staff went to prison. Dave on the other hand was raking in millions and remaining safe from the police by ripping off the public. Support those companies that took a risk to provide us with the real thing and give Diddy Dave the cold shoulder.

DO NOT BUY FROM PRIVATE. They are conmen. And dont buy the Sport either cos he owns that an all

Why does the Private company of Berth Milton allow its name to be used by Dave? He should apply to the courts for a "passing off "order which prevents companies trading on the name of another.

If I was the MD of Private (the European one) I would not want my company associated by name with Daves UK rip-off outfit.

If you go to the legal London shops like the Soho Bookstore, The Harmony shops and other better shops in that area, you will be able to buy them orignal, on DVD or VHS, discounts are available if you bought 3 (?19.99) titles, they sell for ?50. If you bought 3 (?25) titles, they sell for ?65. Plus If you didn't like what you bought they would exchange it for another one with ?10 off. Theres well over 1000 R18's out in the UK, There are a lot of new titles out as well plus some older ones and not so older ones. Keep out of the Private Shops as they still sell the duff copied crap, you can tell by just looking at the photocopied covers in some of those Private shops. I find that the official sex shops are a bit more welcoming to couples men & women as they have cleaned up the shops and made them a bit more modern & more presentable. As for the Private shops, they are still grubby and some of them smell of take-aways!!!.
