well said kat.
hypothetically speaking, as im not insinuating scott has caught any nasties...but what if he was purely going for a test to check his health as opposed to the routine screen for the regulatory certificate in order for him to work in the business.
surely someones health is more important than wealth.
and i never got the gist from scotts post that he was demanding a free test, purely asking some advice from industry insiders - which would be the people frequenting this side of the forum.
scott...try ur local GUM clinic. sometime u have to wait 2/3 hours and they dont alwys issue certificates but give it a go.

Re: Tests
Well said both Kat and Sandie. I think what Scott was actually asking was for same-day testing. I attend my local GUM clinic where the actual test is free but I have to pay for the certificate. Yes it is time-consuming as I have to attend for the test(s) with a wait of approx 1 to 2 hours then I have to wait several days before returning for the results and to pay my fee for the certificate - another 1 to 2 hours, But well worth it as my alternative would be to travel to London.

Re: Tests
I don't see a problem with the NHS providing free preventative tests considering that the costs of treatment should anything happen would FAR outweigh the costs of the preventative test.
The government spends a lot of money on advertising to stop people smoking - its because its cheaper than treating them for lung diseases and cancers if they never stopped smoking.
Just my opinion.

Re: Tests
Hello Scott.
I have always gone to the regents park clinic, as the test is a tool f your trade is is not a major cost. You pay 60quid first off then it is 45 everytime safter, you need you passport, they do all std testing etc, and I have found them an excellent service.
kind regards,
marino
