Hi Sandie,
Hope you are well.
If the problem is someone is using your pictures without the necessary copyright, I would suggest the first action would be to email them direct and politely asking them to remove the pics.
If that fails the next step would be to contact their hosts (you should be able to find this by doing a whois lookup on the domain at ) and tell them that the material on the site is not their copyright, and they should (if they are a reputable host) contact the owners and tell them to remove it as it would break their terms and AUP. If they didn't remove it then they should simply close the account down until it is rectified.
Hope this helps
Cheers

If it's illegal use of your images.. Go to: It's a page I keep on line for this situation. Copy the page to your hd or email it to yourself. Just follow the instructions and make sure you change all the details to suit you and it'll work
Good Luck

Re: touchy subject
I hate to pick holes but it is probably worth noting that Joe's page refers to the Digital Millenium Copyright Act which is only law in America. Currently the UK has no equivalent to the DMCA and only traditional, somewhat antiquated, copyright law can be used.
Your best bet is probably to contact the site operator direct as Paul suggests. If this is a dispute over a web address then try Nominet, as the UK's designated registrar they control who owns what domains.
Their dispute guidelines are here:

If the site is hosted in the UK the DMCA notice can be used for a complaint by not using "DMCA" any where and it can then be a straight forwards notice of copyright infringement.
Also. If the site is a pay site, the chances that it uses a US based processor is very high and so they can be served the DMCA notice. I know this works as I've used this form of attack myself, successfully

Re: touchy subject
I know next to nothing about copyright infringement but I must say that the quality of advice being offered here to Sandie appears to be first class. Impressive stuff guys, and good luck Sandie.
Re: touchy subject
This is a funny subject has it depends on if the site had copyright first to the name etc then by law the DMCA can serve notice on anyone using the name for marterial after the event, Joe A gave some good advice which is well worth looking into.
As i and other producers know material, names etc are stolen, changed to suit the companies all the time but as its a small industry & we get to know them, these people only have a short shelve life as people won't work with them & they soon look for their own orignal idea's to get back into the industry if they can by then so don't worry too much as things have a way of sorting themselves out.

Re: touchy subject
In which case my apologies to Joe. I never thought about simply editing the notice, or the fact that the site could well be based in the States.
I'll go away and finish my humble pie now.
