Erotica, 14 NovTo 16

it was baking last year i had to have a cold glass of water with my pizza, lol.

Unfortunately the 'democratic' wheels of local licensing committees take many a month to revue a decision, so not a hope this time around.
The other thing to consider is that challenging the status quo could be counterproductive. Even obtaining a temporary sex shop / adult entertainment license is a nightmare because of the religious right and other assorted dogooders. LBHF will base their decision primarily on the wishes of their most vocal local residents, so anything that could reopen a pandora's box should be avoided.
Cheers

I certainly agree it?s too late for this year, but I think it?s important that the council receive one or two letters of complaint about unnecessary restrictions to focus their minds for next year for what is after all the biggest erotic festival in the UK.
Why should this cause a problem? ?Pandora?s box? will have to be reopened next year anyway and it?s hard to imagine that a few letters in support of less restriction is going to bring the house down or make it more difficult in any way at all.
I doubt it will have much effect on them, but it?s a matter of principle. If the organisers or the performers decide that they don?t want any nudity then that?s fine I would respect that, but the council should not be making such decisions based on moral arguments.
If nobody ever spoke up on this type of issue then there wouldn?t be any erotica festival would there? Striptease would be banned as immoral and nothing that offended against taste and decency would be allowed anywhere.
One final thought, does Erotica have a temporary sex shop license to sell R18 DVD/video? No don?t tell me, I think I can guess the answer...

Sandie, if some or all of the girls didn't want to walk about nude then I would have every respect for thier wishes and I would have no complaints. Honest! It's just the principle of the thing with the council.
I have no intention of creating any trouble, but the council should know that many people resent interference on moral grounds.

why give the council grounds to debate another future licence for a cause that may not even be pursured by the ones going naked.
do u know how hard it is to get these types of licence. think about it. there would be sex shops on every street if it was that easy.
believe me im very pro porn/nakedness/ freedom of speech blah blah blah but a degree of diplomacy is required.

Yes they do.
Have to agree 100% with MisterC's comments above 'If it aint broke...don't fix it'
You have to remember that Erotica is not just for people who enjoy watching hard core porn & looking at naked females it covers every aspect of the 'erotic' industry. At the moment you get a very good mix of visitors both male & female from all walks of life.......how many of these people would be put off by too much nudity? As MisterC says complaining could be very counterproductive.

OK guys I?ll forget about the complaint to the council, I don?t want to upset the apple cart and I suspect some of you know a lot more about this than me. Having said that I would still like to understand why it would have been an issue. Surely arguing for less restriction would be unlikely to cause more restriction? I am right in thinking that all of the licenses will have to be reapplied for next year aren?t I?
Concerning the sex shop license it?s very good to hear that Erotica will have one, although when I searched on the web site under Exhibitors for video and film it produced zero results, which seems rather odd am I missing something here?

If your going to go a show called Erotica? how many people would be offended by nudity? How many would be surprised there is no nudity? I do take your point to some extent but if done tastefully I doubt there would be any complaints.
My wife was a little surprised there would be no nudity, not a big issue from her point of view in fact she is very philosophical about it despite the fact that she has never seen a fully nude male stage act.
I will be there on Saturday with my wife; it would be interesting to meet some of you people. Who will be there on Saturday? Is anyone running any of the exhibitions?
