custom made videos

I notice that a few of the girls make customised videos. I'm sure this has been covered before but if you order a custom made video (and therefore presumably uncertified) within the UK is it illegal?

Anyone any experience of ordering custom videos and what is an acceptable cost for one (b/g, g/g, solo etc)?

Seen some of the well established "models" asking ?250 upwards for a vid which is kind of expensive when you can buy most of their material for usually less than 10% of that. Another point is, how would you know it's exclusive. Tell them the content you want and they might have one lying around which is near enough. Not trying to open a can of worms, just adding my view.

I had one made by Lana Cox - Solo.Glad I had one made as her website is closed down now and shes moved on...
As for it being Illegal or Legal? i'm not to sure but its a good question. Since its only made for you and no one else, its not really for sale to others and I don't really see the point in getting it certified If its not going to be distributed for sale to others as you and the model/film maker are the only persons who will have a copy of this tape. I supose If you or the model wanted to sell the tape then you could send a copy to the BBFC to cerifiy it and depending on the content it could get a 18 cert to R18 cert. But I'm not an expert on this so I couldn't really say??? Perhaps some others will know better.
As for cost for a custom shoot, It could depend on the model? ?100, ?150, ?200 onwards.... depending on the strength of the material..

Im not sure about the full legal side, but i believe if it was shot for one client, and not sent through the post, its probably OK. As for cost, I would expect easily up to ?250, as it could take a while to shoot and both model and camera man want to make some money

I thought that a custom g/g would be about ?600 and b/g more and solo less. But any more accurate figures greatly appreciated from any girls reading this.

I'd give the girls the benefit of the doubt when it comes to shooting a one off tape rather than one they happened to have lying around. I think the best girls would have more integrity and respect their fans enough not to fob them off with an old tape.

I agree with you Terry, I was just speaking generally and adding a different view. I seem to remember Gilly Sampson offering to do a solo vid for around ?300-?350 although I could be wrong. Wendy also offers to do them, although I don't know how much for, that would be special... If you have a favourite mail her, the worst thing that would happen is that she would say no!

I think the legal side boils down to what is 'lawful', regardless of whether its sold just to one customer or several. First of all the content would have to be lawful in any case, and secondly if it was made to be 'sold' and money changed hands then that would be deemed to be 'distribution' and it would presumambly come under the bbfc rules for certification. I am not a lawyer but I think the best way to view it is that any transaction of any goods or services whatsoever cannot fall outside the law just because it is for private use, unless the law specifically says so. Perhaps one of the producers on here could answer the question a bit more definitively?
