ok ok i see what everyone is saying but as i keep saying if we introduced the pcr dna test there wouldnt be this mmisconception and fasle safety of onemonth testing as i said and for thoise who do not know i also perfporm alot in america were they use this dna test which gives a much shoter time frame as it test the bodys dna instead of searching for antibodies that can take 3 months to show up ok ok for thoise who are interested which i would think would be any sane person heres it in the words of sharon mitchell founder of the aim health care please people stop arguoing about a one month elizar test which is a waste of time and instead concentrate on whats important and thats the saftey of all thos working in the adult industry which i belive only the pcrdna test can change bitching over kissssss alicia rhodes

Why does AIM use the PCRDNA test? What is it?
AIM uses this test because it is the best test for early detection of HIV and works as a stellar monitoring screening test for adult entertainment workers and the sexually active.

The standard test you would get in a doctor's office would be the ELISA test, which is a great test, but it has a window period of 6months because it tests only for the antibody which can take up to 6 months to mature in a young healthy person. Can you imagine how many people you can infect in 6 months if you are working in porn? A lot.

The PCR (polymearase chain reaction) test tests for the HIV inhibitor itself (the disease) and through an amplification process, HIV can be detected just after about 2 weeks (give or take a day or two). We screen the Adult Industry by this test every month. It has become the standard used in the adult entertainment industry in the USA and you can thank AIM for that.

We have successfully prevented the spread of HIV in porn for the last 4 years. An adult entertainment worker MUST BE TESTED EVERY 30 DAYS. Most producers will not hire you if you do not have a DNA test less than 30 days old. And believe me you do not want to work with anyone with an old test because they could be hiding HIV.

We also recommend STD testing and screening every 90 days.


What about False Positives?
AIM has done over 50,000 test over 5 years and we have had only 2 false positives and no false negatives. We also confirm each positive result by the standard Western Blot and RNA (viral load test).

Perhaps AIM should be encouraged to set up a UK operation? My only concern is, if it were adult industry exclusive, would it have enough (regular) business to sustain it over here?

i have mailed sharon mitchell with my personal concerns to setting up in the uk and am awaiting an answer.

however i think u should read my previous posts re; pcr dna.

pcr is available in the uk however is expensive and regulated to "needy" causes.

I think if we can warrant it and pay some way towards it it will become a regular benefit to uk performers.
the only other option is that someone finds a generous millionair soon!!!

great sandie i will try to speak to them to i think if we have enough backing we could find a hospital or lab willing to do this cheaper i mean if it only cost 100 dollers here why should it be so much more expensive in england also aim isnt just an adult enteraniers clinic it is used bby regular people to

I wasn't aware that AIM also served Joe Q. Public as well....in that case, there should be no rational impediment to setting something similar up over here.
