Choosing a cable or satellite channel

Are the standard cable or satellite channels getting stronger and if so which is the strongest at the moment? If I calll up pay per view I get a list of 8 or so channels to choose from now including UK Amateurs, TVX, The adult channel, Spice etc. Which of these is likely to be the strongest? - pref featuring UK stuff too if poss.
