Paypal- warning

Having difficulty getting any response from PP to a query about a missing ton, you might be interested in this: .

Best of luck, jj. In the few cases when I've used them, there have been no problems, seem you've been unlucky.

As this really is o/t, those awful, draconian mods. will undoubtedly move this over to the 'other side'!

May not be relevant in your case, but it should be noted that Paypal no longer handle transactions for adult sites.

If the site doesn't conform to the policy and it comes to their attention they freeze the account for 180 days pending appeal which usually effects the purchaser as well. They don't mess about usually.

To clarify- I didn't know if it was the vendor or Paypal acting in bad faith- the former claimed not to have been paid, and the latter apparently couldn't be bothered to prove their innocence- or even to provide the simple courtesy of an acknowlegment of receipt of my mails- until today, and after I had threatened them with legal action, severe truncheoning, much adverse publicity, and possibly even a visit from Nicky Campbell. The latter must have done the trick...........
I have now received a short and incoherent reply in broken (E European? Indian?) English, and will take it from there.
To be fair, I have had no problems with PP until now, but their customer-service leaves a GREAT deal to be desired, and those stories on the above site are more than a little worrying.
And I think this is on-topic, 4WIW, as it could directly affect many who buy adult material online.
Update to follow if/when.......

If they take this line with me, I will point out all the other instances where they have signally failed to observe their own policy, and that in the circumstances they have no right to 'confiscate' my money as they see fit, without reference to me.
That, in law, is called theft or fraud.
The only possible compromise in such a case would be a full refund, and my noting of their stricture for future reference.
