D.O.B. on Yahoo profiles

Been trying to sign up to a few adult Yahoo groups listed in the Yahoo groups section with moderated/restricted memberships over the last while and have been denied across the board. A few days ago I realised it's because, when I looked on my Yahoo profile, my age (which is well over 18) is listed as "on file" ie "not displayed for security reasons". I've tried to create a new profile with my age displayed a few times but each time it ends up "on file" and not displayed. Am I right in reckoning this is the reason I'm being denied memberships, and if so, how the hell do I get my age displayed? I've tried to find an answer on the Yahoo help page and even mailed them direct but got no response...

I have had exactly the same problem - and have also been turned down from joining certain groups!

I couldn't work out how to sort this out either.

Sounds as though you haven't created an adult profile on Yahoo. If I remember rightly Yahoo hides any age details for profiles that may be under 18 (for obvious reasons).

You can't change it once it's done. You'll need to create a new adult profile and that will display your age etc.
