What started as a report on a couple of of AIDS cases, has suddenly blossomed into a "cause celebre" and resulted in everyone and his/her uncle jumpiing on the bandwagon.
EVERYTHING has been quoted/reported/relayed in relation to this subject.
I feel that it is time to drop the subject. Why?
Because as I said above, it has been flogged to death.
Almost (if not everyone) has had their say on the subject. Is this not enough?

no i dont think its enough at all sorry i think its an extremely important subject that has to be addressed just my opinion
Re: Down to EARTH/REALITY
I would agree with Alicia...all due respect Marcus but this is typical UK thinking and attitude...sweep it under the carpet and hope it goes away!
This really is the time where there is a real possibility the shit testing and poor standards in the UK may actually get improved and now is the time to talk about it and talk about it until it IS changed!
A word of caution though...the testing in the US is pretty much the best in the world and it didn't stop this happening. And it is fairlyunlikely it would have made much difference back in John Stagliano's days either.
Dan.

Re: Down to EARTH/REALITY
To be fair we were arranging a testing system before this happened, And I also would like to point out its over there where they have such great testing.
The only part that is impresive is AIM's ability to contain and report. What I would like to see out of it all is support for one cause and that cause support everyone, Our main aim would be to get full STD testing introduced as a start. What people seem to forget is 3 years ago we were all criminals so it was a bit hard to set up anything. I would say we were ahead of the rest of Europe on this one in fact I know we are,

Won't "human rights" stop people being named without their consent?
We have need of you again, great king.

Marcus - I have to say I generally find some level of agreement in most of what you write on this forum - I don't agree with you on this point.
I made an analogy in a previous thread about a burglar alarm.
We all talk about security, fitting a burglar alarm etc. etc - but most of the time it's simply talk - forgotten about, pushed to the back of your mind UNTIL things are brought sharply into focus - a neighbour gets broken into... All of a sudden those alarms spring up on every neighbouring property.
As Jim has said - we've been discussing improved testing and certification on this forum for about three months now - the situation over the pond has served simply to bring the whole issue SHARPLY INTO FOCUS.
I would agree that there has been something of a knee-jerk reaction - but I think such a reaction is both understandable and justified - not only that but it is credible and reflects positively on the UK Industry. It is universally accepted that our infrastructure is NOWHERE NEAR that of the US - and if it has happened in the US, what makes anyone think it will NOT happen here? Especially when the vast majority of the big names are operating on both sides of the Atlantic?
Again, as I have stated previously - and so has Jim in this thread - more frequent trsting will NOT prevent infections at source, they COULD still happen - more frequent testing will limit the number of exposures and the number of generations at risk.
In a way, the title of your post is very apt - the UK industry has quite literally been BROUGHT BACK DOWN TO EARTH! Now is the right time to put its house in order, this SHOULD serve as a driving force and this should prompt everyone to throw their full support towards a collective that is similar in aims to AIM - and that collective should be BAIHA.

No, partly because of the "Full Disclosure" that is part of AIM, all information pertaining to an outbreak of HIV etc is disclosed to help with this sort of thing that is happeing in the States right now.

The Rt Hon J.Walker,Esq.MA(Hons)Dypso has instructed me to say the following:
My inferior partner-marcusalen-has instructed me to state the following:
The subject has been flogged to death. NOT that it is not important, it certainly is - but, how many opinions can we have?
How many suggestions van we have?
How many people jump on bandwagon?
Everone in the biz has to make an individual choice as to their own business life and their PERSONAL life
Unlike certain posters, MA has had some little experience in this biz and life in general and is entitled to publish his opinions -regardless that they may or not be popular or en vogue.
