I expect someone will correct me on this but as far as I understand:

1. You can BUY anything you like

2. It's illegal to SELL uncertified hardcore DVD's/videos. I think you'll still get raided and imprisoned and put on the sex offenders register.

3. Don't know

4. Model release forms are nothing to do with criminal law. They are just an agreement between you and the model.

Legality has little to do with the current situation:

Trading Standards have taken it upon themselves to attack vid/dv retailers as has been discussed at length re Pabo and others. All of which is subject to Appeal. Stated reason: R18 can ONLY be sold in a licensed sex shop.
Selling unlicensed material is subject to the BBFC and enforced by the VRA (Video recording Act)

Punters are not in danger, just as they were not when the police raided producers/dealers such as myself and many others. If they ever decided to nick buyers, half the male population would jam up the Magistrates Courts for the next ten years.

Kerb-crawling is an offence according to most Councils.
Prostitution is legal.
Soliciting for the purpose of prostitution (by ladies) is illegal.

Model release forms simply give the photographer the rights to the material and after her initial fee, the model has no more claim upon him/them.

Filming h/c is legal and then it depends on what one does with it.

Do not confuse female performers in this industry with "ladies of the night" (or day)!

The two sets of rules are totally different.

Your last Q has been answered - you are not a licensed sex shop.
Anyway, I assumed your original Q was to do with you and others purchasing h/c material, not selling - unless you'r thinking of a boot sale or similar, which is subject to the same rules. You are not a licensed sex shop.

Selling unlicensed material contrary to the Act.
Penalty: A fine. The amount depends on the Magistrate on the day.
Having said that, a friend of mine was hit with a compansation order of ?100,000.

If you have anything devious in your mind, I would suggest you forget it unless you are a gambler.
