Filmmakers Expecting Guys to Pay for Filming

Hi Tas (and everyone else who's comment here).

When I started this thread, I was commenting upon someone who posted a message asking for male talent then asked them to pay.

I can understand that some new guys might bottle out and that this can be a problem. Some film makers do over book guys to ensure they have a minimum of guys for the shoot.

This is similar to restaurants which take credit card numbers for bookings in case people don't show and to ensure they don't loose money.

I've no problems with this ideal but not sure how in practice it would work in the adult industry.

What I do have a problem with when someone asks for guys for his / her website then say's that each guy must pay a contribution (sometimes up to ?100) to cover food and drink.

This sounds more like a "party" not film making.

I totally agree, if we were to introduce such a scheme it would be strictly a deposit system, if a guy shows up for the shoot he gets his deposit back, if he doesnt show he loses his money.
But as I said before we have no intention of introducing such a scheme, we will carry on as we are now with guys not showing up, the thing that suprises me is that we have lovely girls like Pheonix (who works exclusively for us) etc, you would think that most guys would be falling over themselves to get to perform with such a model, instead it seems to scare them off.

Please take on board a comment by the legend who is Marino.... Dont give anything for free. If a company wants u to perform for them to help them make money they should pay. You wouldn't work for an insurance company for free would you?

But some of these people expect us to pay to help them make you money. Please listen to Marino

Hi Guys

We pay couples,females & known male porn stars but newcomers i.e new male stars who have never done this work before do it for for free, we keep a list of people who e-mail us & we get in touch with them when we have a shoot. If they are good we pass the names around to other film producers who we know, like Lara said its the responsibility of the film maker to cover costs & for every bad shoot you get there's always a good one to make up for it.
If some producers do ask for a deposit to help get someone a foothold in the porn industry its not always a bad thing if the people are willing to pay,
remember this is the porn industry where anything goes.
