Auction Sites - anyone help?

Post by Tina »

Hi everyone. I have been a supporter of/contributor to auction sites for 18 months or so.

As the traffic for sellers has died away on these site, is this an indication of the market generally or are there some thriving xxx auction sites out there? If so where are they?

I have tried
PornAuction - which used to be great but after site problems now gets little traffic
Ukadulttoys - who now seem to have removed their auction site
Ebid ? which seems OK but I don?t get much traffic
Bluebids ? no traffic
ukFlava ? again no traffic

Pornauction was the best ? whats gone wrong now?
Anyone any other ideas of where to sell home grown good quality UK made DVDs with nice UK girls and at a fair price?

After reading ghostdogs post......Have you not thought that the traffic is only not coming your way due to the bad customer service...ie if it is faulty surely the man should get a discount or he should be resent the disc..but one that works???? and not a credit note!

ghostdog - if that was your experience email me with the details - it may be that the auction item advertised that the discs were 2nds and very likely faulty but I will send you a replacement of you email me details

I have alot of experience in retail, while it is perfectly legal to sell used products it is certainly NOT legal to "knowingly" sell faulty goods. Trading Standards council would be very interested in your post Tina. I worked for HMV for a long time and regular checks are made to make sure that everything sold is in a saleable condition. The fines are VERY heavy if this is found not to be the case. HMV, of course, do not sell 2nd hand product but as i say there is nothing wrong with that, but knowingly selling faulty goods is another matter, whether the customers are warned or not

If an item is advertised as a reject on an online auction and someone pays ?3 or whatever for it - this is a bit different from HMV selling faulty goods in a retail outlet? Or has reality changed on the planet since I last checked?

Probably the same reason that many high street stores sell seconds or reject items - they work and are tested but only selected movies on them play - so if the full price is ?20 and you sell a product that gives you half the movies for ?3 - why is that a problem?
