Products containing Nonoxyl-9 are readily available at your local pharmacy in many preparations: Gynol II jelly, Duragel, Orthocreme, Orthoform Pessaries and are also present as a spermicide in condoms...although I would imagine most of the adult industry knows this already...but it might be of interest to the uninitiated.

Some lateral thinking - this character has taken up a huge amount of time and energy, he has managed to occupy, and exercise, our minds for a helluva long time. Could he be Internet Vigilante in another incarnation? Think about it - he has caused considerable disquiet in the industry, he appears to have taken to scaring models and actresses, he has put huge distrust into the system. It seems to be just the sort of ploy that characters like IV and his bum chum Gradgrind would undertake.
Just a thought.

Just out of curiosity, do performers in the UK actually have 'HIV certificates'?

In the US the adult industry has an approved medical centre (I've seen their website), and every performer is supposed to show a clear certificate every 2 weeks.

In the UK I suppose you could go to a clap clinic and get a note of your test results, but it's hardly the same!

It used to take about 6 months before you got the results if you have HIV in the UK. A lot can happen in 6 months...what are people supposed to do? Stay celibate for that period of time?

I'm aware that in the US they test every few weeks and get the results PDQ. The fact that the system here doesn't feel it's important to let people know asap is a sad reflection on our NHS (unless you're tested privately...and that COSTS!!!!). Once again, our government trying to fight the spread of HIV and because of running our public health system into the ground, failing miserably.

Dear Karol
Most of us old timers always go private. There are two good clinics in London,that I know of.
The one I have used since 94 is The Regents Park Clinic.
It costs around ?100-00 for a full check up. This I feel is a cost of self employment. ?100-00 is not alot of money for the return, I'm sure more is spent on your tools as a builder.
I wish some people would understand that this is a career and business not just a game to get laid.
I know I like to laugh and joke alot on set, and I always try to show the positive side in this game, but it is hard work
I enjoy logging on to this site and have alot of fun. It also gives me a pretty honest feedback on what people are watching etc.
I am only too happy to contribute my point of view for what ever it is worth, and hope you guys appreciate and enjoy the bantor.
