Any time I have looked over there, I have had to re-register my details for some odd reason.

this is something we considered when we first launched egafd (and even had in effect for half a day) but decided against.
in the final analysis we felt that adding the egafd forum to the bfgafd forum index page/drop down menu (and vice versa) blurred the identities of the two sites to an unnecessary - and probably, unhelpful - degree. this would be especially true of any new visitors to either site and we get enough misplaced posts as it is. at the end of the day, the egafd forum is only a bookmark away, even for steve56...
we do have some alternative ideas for enhancing the level of integration between the two sites but it'll be a bit more subtle (hopefully) than simply grouping their forums together and isn't on our immediate to do list.

i'm not sure what you mean by 'decimated' but the idea is nothing more complicated than to offer something approximating 'a place for everything and everything in it's place' - at least, more so than has recently been the case.
models/producers/vendors, etc can still post replies on here to any requests for help, info, etc and forumites can post follow-up enquiries, general comments, appreciative remarks, etc in response to posts made on the promotions forum.
it's always a bit tricky predicating how long something like this will take to bed down. the o/t forum took a while to find it's feet when first introduced. indeed, some people posted dire warnings that it's creation was the beginning of the end for a once great site, etc...
obviously, our hope is that things will go smoothly and that everyone takes full advantage of it in the manner intended but if it turns out to be a hideous failure we always have the option to remove it (although, 'i may be gone for some time' in the resultant aftermath... :-\)
